Boosting Cognitive Development

Feuerstein Program

When we started, his high cognitive speed made everything harder:
He skipped every step.
No waiting.
No verbalizing.
No planning.
Lots of vocal + motor stimming, and almost no spontaneous language.

And to help you understand the progress:
šŸ‘‰ At the beginning, the moment I covered the worksheet, he would rip the paper off before we even started.
He couldn’t tolerate the pause or anticipation.

To build true executive functioning, I used one strategy:
šŸ‘‰ Covering the entire worksheet, leaving only the instruction visible.
This trained him to pause, breathe, read, understand, verbalize, plan, before acting.

Session after session, I removed the cover.
Slowly, self-regulation moved from external to internal.

🧠 Executive functions strengthened

  • Impulse control
  • Attention
  • Working memory
  • Planning + sequencing
  • Self-correction
  • Spatial orientation
  • Verbal language
  • Emotional regulation
  • Feuerstein mediation: I don’t tell him what to do, I teach him how to think

✨ The transformation

In our 45-minute sessions:

šŸ’¬ He now verbalizes spontaneously
šŸ¤ He socializes (ā€œAfter you, I’m going toā€¦ā€)
šŸ§˜ā€ā™‚ļø Stimming doesn’t appear while we work
🧠 He follows instructions with calm and clarity
šŸ“ His use of space, timing and language is completely different

This isn’t about a worksheet.
This is deep cognitive and emotional change.

šŸš€ What’s next?

Now we can raise the bar.
Because the brain has no limits: it can always grow.

My goal isn’t performance inside the room.
My goal is autonomy in the real world:
home, school, relationships, life.

And that’s exactly what’s happening. šŸ’›
